Iranian intelligence forces have dismantled a team of terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, close to the border with Pakistan.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian intelligence forces have dismantled a team of terrorists in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, close to the border with Pakistan.

The provincial General Directorate of Intelligence announced in a statement on Wednesday that three terrorists were killed and 8 others captured in a joint counterterrorism operation, involving the Quds Base of the IRGC Ground Force, police, and the provincial intelligence department.

It said the terrorist network, affiliated with Takfiri groups and foreign spy services, was behind the martyrdom of three law enforcement forces and a civilian at a checkpoint in Fahraj County, in the southeastern city of Kerman.

According to the statement, a cache of weapons was also confiscated from the terrorist hideouts, including RPGs, an American M4 equipped with a night vision camera, several Kalashnikovs equipped with grenade launchers, as well as weapon silencers, stolen vehicle number plates, and two vehicles used by terrorists.

The provincial General Directorate of Intelligence also announced that the detained elements, during preliminary interrogations, had explicitly confessed to the attack on the Fahraj checkpoint.

Emphasizing the role of intelligence in carrying out this successful operation, the statement said the complete report will be made available to the public once investigations are completed and the results are clear.
